Stone kitchen trends we’re predicting for the year ahead

Whether you keep sweaters-in-the-oven a la Carrie Bradshaw or the last year has turned you into a bonafide chef, there’s no denying that many of us have kitchen remodeling on the brain. Transforming our homes to meet how we live today is more important than ever and, of course, every good kitchen starts with a fabulous countertop. Here are the stone trends we’ve been noticing and loving!

Go bold

The queen of bold design, Sasha Bikoff, chose Esmeraldo Onyx for her own show-stopping kitchen. This vein-cut onyx combines deep greens with warm beige and velvety brown striations. We’re seeing boldly colored kitchens make a big comeback – and we’re so here for it!

Clean Quartzite

The kitchen pictured above is one of many gorgeous spaces in a Carnegie Hill apartment renovation by Michael K. Chen Architecture – as seen in Elle Decor. The kitchen backsplash and counters are in Cristallo quartzite from ABC. We love Cristallo for its clean, chic look and incredible durability.

Eco-friendly Lapitec

The ideal kitchen cladding solution is here! Lapitec sintered stone in Bianco Elettra is a true alternative to marble. The new Artistica Collection from Lapitec recreates the subtle, through-bodied veining of marble and recalls the same exquisite elegance with a level of technical performance that only a sintered stone can offer.

Trending Terrazzo

Terrazzo is IN! The beauty of this material is that it goes with everything. It’s also an Earth-friendly, low emission, and cost-effective surfacing product. In a gorgeous Palm Springs home, Formarch Architecture chose poured terrazzo flooring from ABC Stone – which lends sleek contrast to warm wood cabinetry in the compact kitchen.
