From quarry cocktails high above Carrara to hands-on carving sessions guided by Stephen Shaheen at Studio Corsanini – this year’s Carrara excursion was a celebration of material, mastery, and meaningful connection.
Together, we explored the legendary quarries of Carrara at SaGeVan Quarry, stepped inside the storied workshops of Cervietti by Quarra, and immersed ourselves in the timeless techniques that have shaped marble for generations. From sculpting in stone to standing among plaster casts of iconic works by artists like Fernando Botero, Niki de Saint Phalle, and Marc Quinn, each moment deepened our appreciation for this extraordinary material.
But beyond the stone, what stayed with us most was the shared experience. New friendships formed, creativity sparked, and a renewed reverence for the artistry and labor behind every slab.
