Purchasing Manager

At this exciting time in our company, ABC stone has an opportunity for an experienced Purchasing Manager to join our growing team.
The Purchasing Manager will manage the Supply and Demand Planning process. Ensure adequate inventory levels to meet customer demand and control inventory levels to prevent excess & obsolete inventory. Reviews sales forecasts, product specifications & Inventory churn to accurately determine material requirements for the organization. Liaising with various functional areas (Accounting, Purchasing, Warehousing, Inventory Control, Customer Service & Senior Management) is a key part of this position.
Job Duties:
- Documents material details and information necessary to process orders.
- Keep distribution flowing smoothly with controlled levels of inventory (per set DIO targets)
- Work with VP of Purchasing on procuring materials, ensuring inventory is available for re-sale and calculating the amount of supply being purchased in terms of months on hand.
- Liaise with Sales, Operations, Warehousing, Purchasing and Finance.
- Create and maintain an inventory purchasing schedule and budget by watching trends and customer demands to make sure there are always enough products for resale.
- Provide suppliers with an expected purchase schedule at the start of each year.
- Sales, PO Spending and Inventory reporting.
- Work with Sales Administrator to analyze Sales Orders for accuracy and relevancy around product holds and revisions and availability of material for purchase.
- Link Sales Orders to Purchase Orders for special orders.
- Daily entry of purchase orders using MRP Report and backup to VP of Purchasing, if necessary.
- Utilize MRP system to coordinate materials from purchasing, processing & warehousing.
- Handling employee correspondence and ETA reporting involving supply and delivery. You may also be responsible for finding new suppliers when needed.
- Familiarity with all aspects of Materials Requirements Planning such as Lead Time awareness, A-B-C planning methodology, reorder point calculations, min/max development and maintenance.
- Implement systems needed for efficient supply chain operations.
Job Requirements:
- 7 years of related experience in Material Planning using an MRP system.
- Knowledge of shipping, receiving and the purchase-to-pay process strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of computerized inventory systems and strong MS Excel required.
- Knowledge of cost accounting is a plus.
- Complex technical and business matter Specialist
- Six Sigma Certification preferred
- Bachelor’s degree or certification in production and inventory management, supply chain management or equivalent experience of 7 years.

Pay
Salary Range $90,000.00 - 110,000.00
