March 10 | Grounded in Stone: Materiality, Meaning, and the Modern Landscape
What role does natural stone play in shaping a landscape’s identity and the experiences of those who inhabit it?

Join New England Home editor Jenna Talbott for a wide-ranging conversation with LeBlanc Jones Landscape Architects and ABC Stone, exploring how the selection of natural stone extends beyond surface decisions to become the material language of a design. From the quarry to the garden, this discussion examines how texture, geological origin, and finish inform spatial clarity, and how early collaboration between designer and supplier elevates outcomes.

Drawing from award-winning projects spanning Boston’s historic estates to contemporary urban landscapes, the panel will explore how natural stone anchors the “unifying idea” at the heart of thoughtful design, honors a site’s history and ecological context, and connects the built environment to place.

Tuesday, March 10, 6:00 – 8:00 PM

March 19 | Layers of Meaning: Gary McBournie and Bill Richards on Collecting Spaces, Sourcing Across Continents, and the Materials That Anchor It All

Fresh from the pages of Galerie, designers Gary McBournie and Bill Richards join Editor-in-Chief Jackie Terrebonne for a far-reaching conversation about building interiors that feel genuinely collected, not just decorated. From their Left Bank pied-à-terre to projects spanning Boston and New York, the duo reveals how European sourcing traditions have shaped their approach to American design, why the stones and surfaces you choose first determine everything that follows, and what it really means to let a room evolve over time. A candid look at process, provenance, and the art of knowing when to mix and when to restrain.
