ZGF Architects’ 1215 O Street

This is an 11-storey office project in downtown Sacramento, covering 360,K SqFt, designed by our friends at ZGF Architects. It will house working spaces for up to 1,150 state employees as a part of an initiative of the California Department of General Services to modernize its facilities. The structure will include office-, meeting-, and storage-space, as well as an employee gym. In an attempt to integrate the building into the existing community it will also feature a pedestrian plaza and retail space. It will be a net zero building targeting LEED Platinum certification: it will use 60% less water than office buildings of a similar size, and will be powered by onsite (rooftop) solar panels, and offsite solar energy sources of the Sacramento Municipal Utility District.
