Gertler & Wente’s $7M revamp of Center City high-rise

1700 Market – a high-rise in the Market West region of Philadelphia tied with Two Logan Square as the 20th-tallest building in the city – was purchased in 2016 by Shorenstein Properties, a San Francisco developer, for $200M. The new owners sometime thereafter announced renovations to the building, to be undertaken by construction company D’Lauro and Rodgers Inc, working from our friends at Gertler & Wente‘s plans. Phase I of the renovation of the mid-century building will include new exterior signage, exterior & interior lighting, and ceilings, as well as a new glass entranceway, doors, and Terrazzo flooring for the lobby. Phase II will, as yet, pertain to the addition of a conference center, fitness center, and roof terrace.
